PE and Sport are considered very important at Springwell Junior School and we were very proud to recently gain Activemark for the third time in 4 years. This is a national award which recognizes our efforts to provide a provision of high quality PE throughout the school. We can therefore proudly display the Activemark logo on our letterheads and other documents.
Every child at Springwell participates in at least 2 hours of PE and Games each week. Activities can range from gymnastics and dance to football and swimming. We are very fortunate to have large playing fields and therefore make good use of them all year round but especially in the summer months!
Springwell also offers a wide range of after school, sporting activities. These include football, rugby, basketball, mini tennis and street dance to name just a few. We have developed strong links with the community and have organisations such as Brentford Football Club, Youth Hoops and Middlesex Cricket Club offering sessions of high quality coaching to the children.
At Springwell we also feel that competitive sport has important role to play. During the year a number Interhouse sporting events take place where the children get to represent their house and take part in competitive fixtures against other children in the school.
The children also get the opportunity to represent their school in fixtures and tournaments against other schools. We regularly take part in the Mini Olympics against 4 other primary schools in the area and we also have a football, netball and a cricket team which also takes partin friendly games and tournaments against other schools.
It is very important that your child always has the correct PE and Games uniform in school. To check that you have the correct kit please click here.
